Gfci On 2 Wire System. Current doesnt have to go through the egc it can go through your body to a concrete floor and trip the gfci. A gfci will give better protection from shock than a 2 wire ungrounded receptacle.

You shouldn't have to put the circuit on an afci unless you extend the circuit. If your outlet features two hot wires connected, the gfci outlet also provides supply to other ones in the entire circuit.
